Spinach Fritters: A Nutritious and Tasty Snack

Spinach pastry are a healthy and delicious way to enjoy your greens. These savory fritters combine fresh spinach with a few simple ingredients to create a crispy, flavorful treat that’s perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish. Packed with nutrients and bursting with flavor, spinach fritters are sure to be a hit with the whole family.

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh spinach, finely chopped
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 large eggs
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions Prepare the Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped spinach, flour, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Heat the Oil:Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. The oil is ready when a small drop of the mixture sizzles immediately upon contact.
Fry the Fritters: Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the spinach mixture into the hot oil and flatten it slightly with the back of a spoon. Repeat with additional spoonfuls, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet.
Fry the fritters for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Serve:Serve the spinach fritters hot, with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice. Enjoy them as a nutritious snack, appetizer, or side dish.

Tips for Perfect Spinach Fritters:

Ensure the spinach is finely chopped to help the fritters hold together better.
For a gluten-free option, substitute the all-purpose flour with chickpea flour or almond flour.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
