Kısır Recipe

Kısır is a popular Turkish dish made from fine bulgur, fresh herbs, and vegetables. This tasty, nutritious salad is flavored with olive oil, lemon juice, and pomegranate molasses. It’s a versatile dish, often served as a side or a light meal. The combination of parsley, mint, and green onions adds a burst of freshness, while the spices give it a flavorful kick. Whether you’re enjoying it at a family gathering or as part of a mezze platter, Kısır is sure to delight your taste buds.

Kısır Recipe Ingredients:

1 cup fine bulgur
1 cup hot water
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
1 teaspoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon red pepper paste
1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
1/2 bunch mint, finely chopped
4 green onions, finely chopped
Salt, pepper, and cumin to taste

Instructions A Delicious Turkish Bulgur Salad

Kısır, In a large bowl, pour hot water over the bulgur and cover. Let it sit for 15 minutes until the bulgur absorbs the water and softens.
Fluff the bulgur with a fork, then add olive oil, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, tomato paste, and red pepper paste. Mix well.
Add the chopped parsley, mint, and green onions. Season with salt, pepper, and cumin.
Mix everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Serve the Kısır at room temperature, garnished with extra herbs or pomegranate seeds if desired.
